Antique Japanese Samurai Sword Signed 320 Years OldThis is a genuine antique samurai sword signed by the maker. I think it was made around the late 1600's as i think the maker is masanori who was second lord of yamato province and of the fujiwara clan (book seems to put him 1660-1680). The cutting edge is 19 adn overall in the case 28. There aer 2 thin grooves cut into each side. It has a copper habaki. There is a scabbard that is splitting and has some chips, it is an unusual shape with a large brass fitting no the end. The handle is just a core and same', there are 2 spacers and an iron tsuba. You can see the straight temper on both sides up through the tip, it is hard to photograph as the blade is a bit scuffed and has a few stains. I see no fatal flaws, there is some rough grain, the blade could be restored. Here is a chance to own a real samurai sword at less than the cost or many reproductions, it is listed with no reserve. I may be adding some other items so pelase check other items. |
