Koto Era Japanese Samurai Katana Sword W 28 38 BladeKoto period japanese samurai sword katana. Blade length is a olng 28 3/8. The nakgao has two mekugi-ana and a dark patina. hTe mei/signature reads senjuin saku. Senjuin was a swordsmith school copmrising of two groups in the mid-12th century to the 16th century. Tsuka has matching fuchi and kashira and menuki with a floarl design. Some same missing toward kashira. Massive geometric designed iron tsuba. The 28 3/8 blade has traces of a hamon. It has kizu, and a few nicks in the blade edge and blotches, mainly toward the kissaki. The saya is covered in leather with a leather coverde fuchi with snap attachment. The kojiri/scabbard tip is broken and the blade tip is partially visible. The saya has a few old tape rings, visible in the photos. Sword described to the best of ym ability. Ayn additional input graciously accepted. This is a nice, very long katana, quite old and with a great deal of history in need of some tlc. |
