Shinto Period Katana In Full Handachi KoshiraerareThis measures from one end to the other 31 1/4 inches long and the blade is 1/4 thick. And just undre 1 1/4 from thick to sharp edge. Great old sword straight out of my grandfathers collection. Shinto period katana ni full, handachi koshirae. Signed hoki no kami fujiwara hirotaka. sTuba round, possibly shibuichi plate with shakudo rim and shakudo hitsu-ana plugs. Saya black with gold flecked lacquer work. The 1st generation hirotaka, hir 169(1655), signed this way, and could also be 2nd generation, hir 170(1684). The 1st generation is a wazamono rated smith. The straight sugata suggests kanbun era. |
